FeelFree Lure 10 is a sit-on-top fishing kayak. At 10′ length, it gives great maneuverability, and its tri-hole design provides rock-steady stability which you need when you are out fishing. It has been my go-to fishing kayak in calm and shallow waters for a couple of years and with its Gravity Seat, wheel in the keel and uni-track system really is a feature-rich fishing kayak from Feelfree.

Our Review of FeelFree Lure 10
The thought behind Feelfree Lure 10 was to create a feature-rich kayak but keep it under $1000. Feelfree Lure 10 is a 3-model fishing kayak series from Feelfree with its other brothers being Lure 11.5 and 13.5. Whenever you are going for a fishing kayak you need to consider a few things and these include:
- Stability
- Tracking
- Type of construction
- Capacity
- Speed
- Type of kayak
- Intended use and Skill Level
- Seating
- Ease of Use
- Transport
- Cost
With these points in mind, we have put FeelFree to test and are here to provide you a detailed review of how it fared against each criteria.
Stability - A feature to admire
Stability is a feature you really need to consider whenever looking for a fishing kayak because you never know what kind of day you are going to have while fishing. Feelfree Lure 10 stood our test of stability and that is because its base has pontoon-like structures on each side which gives it a lot of stability.
Tracking - Not the best
FeelFree 10 has a tri-hole design at the bottom and that does help you with your tracking because the grooves in the bottom help grip the water and keep it going straight, however it does not take the rudder and does not track quite as well.
Construction - Can Last a While
It is made up of high-density polyethylene polymers which makes it abrasion and impact-resistant and provides UV protection and colorfastness. I have to say it is sturdy enough to last you a while.
Capacity/Storage - Capacious enough for all your fishing/kayaking gear
The first thing you are going to notice about this kayak is its highly capacious cockpit. It comes with a weight capacity of 176 kilos/375 kilos, and that, of course, includes your weight, so unless you are a very heavy person, there is still going to be a lot of capacity left for all of your fishing and kayaking gears.
It has an oval hinged hatch, which has a fully waterproof seal between hatch and hull and the hatch has a rubber lip seal and three solid lock cams to create a waterproof closure. The watertight center console provides easy reach storage for the gear you need close to your hand.
Speed - Not the best of points
Any time you go to a smaller boat, you lose tracking and you lose speed. At 10 foot x 35 inches, it is going to be more maneuverable, but less speed, so if you are into speed kayaking this may not be your thing.
A Sit-on-top Kayak – Made for fishing
Feelfree Lure 10 is a sit-on-top type of kayak which is really made for fishing. It has a highly adjustable and comfortable seat that can be adjusted even to the flush, but we will talk about that later.
Intended use and Skill Level – Best for Novice Anglers and Calm Waters
If you happen to like kayaking in flat-water lakes, slow-moving rivers; ponds, and coastal waters with light waves where you need a lot of maneuvering, then you can go for this little masterpiece hands down because at 10 foot it gives extra maneuverability allowing you to reach tighter fishing points that the bigger kayaks just can’t reach, but if you are into speed kayaking and need best of the tracking, we would recommend you go for Lure 11.5 or 13.5 or something from a different line of kayaks.
Seating – One of the Best Around
Lure 10 comes with its class-leading Gravity Seat which is a highly adjustable and comfortable seat. It can go up to 25 centimeters/10 inches off the flush in steps which is suitable for whatever activity you are doing.
If you are just trolling/kayaking, you can pin it to the flush and if you want the best of the view or want leverage when casting your line, you can adjust it to a higher position.
But, the Gravity Seat takes a little getting used to, start at the low and then move your way up with just a couple of clicks at a time because when you are elevated your center of gravity is up, it can get a little bit looser and if you are reeling in a big redfish you want to be stable which can be counteracted by installing stabilizers/outriggers.
Ease of Use – Very User-Friendly
FeelFree Lure 10 has been built after taking into account different feedbacks from customers regarding Feelfree’s earlier products (at least that’s what FeelFree says) and I can’t really complain. This is a very user-friendly fishing kayak that provides great maneuverability and stability.
It also features FeelFree’s Uni-Track system which allows quick and easy mounting of all your fishing accessories without drilling any holes.
You can go with GoPro Mount or attach your fishfinder or transducer to a Scotty Mount. The mounts can be released or moved to another place by simply moving the levers and sliding and if you have run out of space you can use Feelfree’s Unibar or Uni-Bar Deluxe and make your kayak an absolute fishing command center.
Moreover, if you have a bad back or are on the wrong side of the age, its Lift Assist can be really handy for going from sit to stand.
But you know what else? It has six different decent colors to choose from. It also has two flush-mounted rod holders behind the seat. The seat also has small pockets on each side which you can use to put your cell phone safely.
Transport – Easy Peasy
FeelFree Kayaks comes with the unique Wheel in the Keel which is a small wheel under the hull which makes carrying the kayak to and from the water an absolute breeze, isn’t that cool!!
In addition to that, it has bow, stern, and side-mounted handles which make any lifting or carrying comfortable and convenient. The kayak itself weighs off the shelf at 31 kilos/69 pounds including the Gravity Seat, wheel in the keel, and Uni-Track system, and can easily be transported in the back of your truck or pickup.
Cost – A bit on the pricey side
You can have a few reservations about the price tag because there are a few similar kayaks with cheaper prices, but taking into account the quality of features Lure 10 provides I personally feel the price tag is justified. With its amazing seating system, durability and user-friendliness, it is an absolute joy if you love long lazy days of fishing without your back going numb.

thanks John, I found this information extremely helpful. I was about to purchase the feel free lure 10, but may reconsider and go look at the Slayter lt because I need to be able to car top a kayak by myself and this one seems to meet all things I am looking for.
